Conditional Logic

Conditional logic shows or hides a field based on values in other fields. Set it on the field that should appear or disappear, not on the field that controls it.

Where to find it

  1. Open the page in the Visual Builder.
  2. Select the Form module and open the Content tab.
  3. Select the field that should show or hide.
  4. Open Conditional Logic.

Step fields do not have this group. Setting details are also in Conditional Logic on the Form Field module.

Settings

  • Enable — off by default. Turn it on and this field stays hidden until the rules match.
  • Relation — Any (default) means one matching rule is enough. All means every rule must match.
  • Rules — pick another field on the form, a comparison, and a value.

Only other fields that have a Field ID can be used in a rule. Select, radio, and checkbox fields offer their option values in the rule. Give those fields a Field ID before you build the rule.

Example

  1. Add a dropdown (Field One) with options A, B, and C, and give it a Field ID.
  2. Add a text field (Field Two).
  3. On Field Two, open Conditional Logic, turn on Enable, leave Relation on Any, and add a rule: Field One equals A.

Field Two then appears only when Field One is A.

Verify it works

  1. Save the form and open it on the frontend.
  2. Change the controlling field across the values you used in the rules.
  3. Confirm the dependent field shows and hides as expected, and that a visible required field can still be submitted.

Common pitfalls

  • A field with no Field ID does not appear in Rules.
  • Changing an option value after the rule is saved makes the rule miss.
  • A required field that stays hidden can block submission. Test one rule at a time.
